Orange Cord A-Boo

I haven't had a good belly laugh in a long time, who knew that it would come while standing in the bath tub holding Tadpole and trying to muffle Abizella's laughter, all the time listening to Superkid dash through the house saying, "Ready or not here I come!"

There aren't too many places for a big person to hide in a small house, but I really have to give the "Honorable Mention" award to Pops! Trust me, I could hide in plain site around the corner from the fridge and have the kids zip by me over and over again without being sighted. But Pops! Pops found some pretty imaginative spots to squeeze into!

All this fun reminded me of the fables Glama and Bampa tell of "Orange Cord A-Boo". Never heard that one? It is actually a game that Jamos made up. Basically it is hide-and-seek with an orange extension cord plugged into the wall on one end with Jamos at the other end with a lit light bulb. I don't know who got tired of that game first! I'm sure Glama and Bampa will elaborate. I just wish they were here to play with us, except here all the hints the "hiders" leave the "seekers" is muffled laughter.

More Davis Pics

Here are a few more pics ouf our Little guy. The past couple of days have been quite interesting. Davis has Jundice and is currently spending all of his time outside of feeding in a light bed. Hopefully this will be cleared up by Monday. It's really hard not being able to hold your newborn whenever you like. Davis sure does love the bed. We think its the humm it creates. His personality is starting to show. He loves having full access to his hands. If we swaddle him up with his hands bound he gets very angry. We have given in and allow his hands to roam free. Another thing he likes to do is sleep on his left side. Most importantly Davis loves discussing cars with dad. He perfers German cars over all else. He knows what cars are cool and what cars are for stuffy old men. Little guy knows what moms are for. He loves to feed. He is such a great little eater. Glama is here to help out. She has been making us yummy food to help produce fabled Farr better cream that the Smith woman are known for. All and all we feel we are Lucky. So far so good. Davis wants visitors! Come and meet him soon!

The Littlest Davis

Fist of all we have to apologize to everyone for not being able to call you. We had Little Davis late Monday and Tues. our phones were dead and mine in particular was new to me and does not have all of your correct numbers. Infact this week in preparation for Davis' arrival I was going to call Glama to get all my sibs phone numbers. We are finding that we had a lot more preparation to do like not having bassinet sheets or baby laundry detergent, but we are making it work. So little Davis is the sweetest kid I have ever met. The second he was born the Dr. put him on my stomach and he let out a little yelp and then just laid there looking at me making sweet baby noises. We thought perhaps he was drugged up but he is still just as calm and content. Davis is an alert little guy. Always eyes wide open trying to check everything out. I just keep saying over and over out load he is soo cute! I like to think he has my nose but the rest of him is Shane. This kids feet are really big and he has fingers for toes. A true Keddington trait! I will post more later when I have more time. The site is currently down but we did have pictures taken at the hospital. The website is overlakehospital.org click on the photo gallery. Hopefully it will be up and running very soon!

Davis James Keddington

Phrogbottoms! We have a new, brand new family member - Davis James Keddington. He joins the ranks of David James Bennion and Hayden James Francis as having the family traditional name James. CONGRATULATIONS CINDY AND SHANE YOU WILL BE FABULOUS PARENTS!

In the last 2 centuries the tradition began with my Father, James Davis. His sister, my Aunt Maggie named her Son James Nelson. My Uncle Rod named his second Son James Thad Davis. Cousin James named his son James and he in turn named his son James. My parents named me James and I named my Son James. Now I am very proud to have 3 Grandsons named James. I know my Mother and Father would be highly honored by the naming of their gread Grandsons James. Thank You Bampa (By the way I think I can claim the contest prize). What is the prize ah your Eternal Love. great prize.

Time to Weigh In....

It's happening....Cyncha's water broke this morning around 5:00 am SL time....Grabbing a towel she was on her way to the hospital. She is at Overlake Hospital, hooked up and ready to perform!

Now is the time to "weigh in" (get it...ha, ha, ha) and place your bets on time of delivery and weight. Here is my guess.....3:47 pm (Seattle time) and the weight of 6lbs 9 oz. No super great prize, just bragging rights for the winner! Come on....let's all play

Don't Bookmark Us Just Yet

We've moved our blog. While we appreciated the suggestions for a new blog name (Dixie and the Miss was my favorite) we decided to go with "Davis Dailies," although dailies-ish might be a more accurate name. In fact, if you check our site every other month you should find a new post to read. But we make no promises.

Shame about those Patriots

As usually I am unaware of what is actually going on during any football game , particularly something like the super bowl when gossip and treaties are floating about. This year I am stuck at the Hospital working so Cookie has been giving me the play by play from my hole of a work station. I just got the news that the Oh-so favored to win Pats lots by the skin of their teeth. I would offer my condolences to Mistletoe but I know that she too is more into the treats and gossip in the game anyway. This upset victory reminds me of the night that mom called me on her way home from the big Foozball state championships to tell me that Skyline lost their championship to Northrigde and that I was not to tease B about the devistating lose. To this I replied why would I make fun of B, its not like he played in the game! Bah ha ha.
